Founder and CEO, Dragonfly Thinking; Professor, School of Regulation and Global Governance, Australian National University; Affiliate Faculty, HLS Center on the Legal Profession

Anthea is a Professor at the School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet) at the Australian National University (ANU) and a Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School. Alongside her academic work, she is the Founder and CEO of Dragonfly Thinking, an AI-enabled strategic intelligence company.

Her academic career has focused on how people can better understand and navigate complex, contested fields—from international law to geoeconomics. She developed “dragonfly thinking,” a methodology for synthesising multiple perspectives, like a dragonfly integrating thousands of lenses into one compound eye. When generative AI emerged, she saw that it provided a way to operationalise that methodology, so she founded Dragonfly Thinking.

Anthea is one of the world’s most highly cited international lawyers of her generation, winning numerous awards including the ASIL Certificate of Merit. Her book Six Faces of Globalization was selected among the Best Books of 2021 by the Financial Times and Fortune Magazine. Her current writing explores AI, expertise, metacognition, and how identity shapes our relationship with tools that can do what we do.
